Life of an optimax

I'm looking at a boat that has an opti on it which has done about 900 hours, I've heard of these motors doing five times that and seen one with over 3000 but is that common or shall I avoid?
cheers
Jiz

I've got 750 hours on mine, still going ok. If the air compressor is original then there may not be much life left in it.

As long as she's been looked after, they can last a very long time.

I'll see how much the compressor would cost you.

When mine failed last year best price I found was from American Marine Imports (Hank), 400-500 iirc.

Cheers, I've had a look and it seems straight forward to fit...

Can they be rebuilt?

As Bogib said.

Your better off just getting a new one, for peace of mind and all that.
