All good since we found the chafed wire. Out the water getting serviced for free by barrus!

Ours does just over 50mph with 175hp, I'd have thought a narrower and shorter hull with 150 would exceed that.

Never the butt of jokes, just the target of jealous comments!

Actually got a few good runs in all things considered. Including porth dinllaen.

EH? How high off the floor are your trunks?????? This may be a humber feature, but the lowest point of the I/D of mine is at floor level. Net result, I really should put a grille over the hole to stop me loosing dropped stuff as well as water!

If you have the trunks as far out from the centreline as poss, a gentle turn to port or Stbd then again the other way will take all the water out. If the sea is too crappy for gentle ambling turns, a half inch of brine lurking at the back will be the least of your worries!

The PITA of not having a pump is when there's water in the boat, you're loading bods and dry stuff and there's a mile of 6knt speed limit before the trunk/trunks come out to play.

We've got exactly the same problem (well obviously) although worse 'cos its on the mooring. Only way is to put all the gear on the anchor locker, cast off and go for a minute spin on the plane amongst the boats. Most weve had it water lapping right up to the anchor locker so ~12 inces+ at the back. With the trunk down it goes down mighty quick though

V Low freeboard on our 6.5 Scorpion. 150hp opti longshaft.

With fat blokes on the 6 jockeys, all aft, water can wash into the stern when at rest. 2000gph pump in the well sorts that though most of the time.

To reduce the water splashing in we've built up the transom cut out either side of the ob with self adhesive foam blocks. As they're squashy can also get one between the saddle sides under the engine. Works a treat.

Personally if I had a 6m boat with 6 on board and water washing over the back I'd sell it. That's a crap design or over weighted stern from too large an engine. (unless all six are over 18 stone in which case get slimmer friends or diet)

Our sr did it in reverse with the max 90 hp but not at rest unless a bog wave came.
