Thanks everyone

Thanks guys, i've sourced an Evinrude dealer in Sandwich (Kent) who can supply me a proper OMC kill cord, i'll be popping over there tomorrow to buy myself a couple as at the moment i only have the one, then i'll have a spare on the boat and one in a BDH somewhere just in case with the spare key.

This KILL thing, what does it do? Many in my part of the world have nice red strings near their control box, do they attach them somewhere, PLEASE tell them, they do not understand, despite a death some years ago.

I can confirm that KELPIES in PEMBROKESHIRE will be a good source for the cords. By the lack of use of such in the area, they should have a stock.

Dodgy kill cords for sale in Aladins Cave, Southampton last week, surprisingly with the Plasimo label on them. Having read Stuarts warning they stayed onthe shelf rathe than my boat.

I have one of these from Towsure in Southampton. 12.45 and fits my Yamaha control box perfectly. Even comes with whistle!! (which my two year old thinks is the best bit).

Towsure

Hi Guys

I've seen these type before that are a basic cord and have a few different attachments so can be used in different types of boats, suppose though if you only ever use one boat your'll never need the other spare bits, though still recon they are a good idea.

I found the kill cord i was looking for at Highway Marine in Sandwich Kent who are actually an OMC main dealer and specialise in servicing and maintaining OMC and i did actually check the cords though i was happy they were the real mc coy as they can in official OMC bags. I bought two so now i have three, one stays with the main key, one with the spare key and one lives wrapped around the seat rest.
