Identifying Mariner outboard

Hello everyone.

I have a Mariner 40hp and Im struggling to find if its 2 or 4 stroke. See photo for the details on outboard.

Its a two stroke, has it still got the RNLI capsize/inversion kit on the motor ?

Hello. Yes it does have a engine hours regulator not sure about capsize.

40hp 2/str they are a bloody good engine, even though they are old now.is there any letters/numbers stencilled on the leg? if so what are they?You can find the model year if you go on the brunswick download centre , you will need the serial number. note i said model year only, the age is when it was registered to the first owner.
