Icom to Gps

Hello!!!
can anyone help, have bought a Icom 421 and want to connect it to A Garmin 178c Gps, in the icom goodie bag ,they give you a Black lead to go to the GPS unit
The Garmin Leads are coloured in the instructions say,Blue ....Data out, Brown ....Data In,White ....Data in, Green...Data Out and Yellow.. Alarm low,
Any Ideas?? thanks for your help!!

All you need is to connect one of the 'data out' wires of the Garmin onto the signal wire of the Icom. Then connect the screen wire of the Icom to the negative of the GPS. There are two data outs on most garmins, one is port 1 and the other port2.. Make sure you turn the port 'on' to NMEA on the GPS so that it sends position data to the 421

Thanks for that!! just getting all the equipment up together before the bare boat arrives!! thanks, will give it a go!!
