Cheers craig-I've got that one on watch but by the time I've driven up there and paid the extra for the controls and cables and so on it'll be too much.

I'm not going to get him to pallet it up and buy an outboard sight unseen-specially as he's added the disclaimer that he knows very little about them...

yes, think they are the same engine as the Mariner 55hp with different lid and badges. Old design and most were pull start which is just about manageable from cold, however should be quite a few about so lots of spares . We had one on a humber 4.9m rib which would plane with 4 divers and kit @ 20 knots, but that was carrying alot of kit. Given that it was only ever serviced when we were at sea and it wouldn't start it just seemed to go on for ever. Having only 2 cylinders they don't tick over very smoothly but you can live with it and its mechanically very simple.

There is another on e bay for 1 at the moment.
