Anyone know what the max outboard weight is for a Humber Attaque 5.3?

That is the Assault. The model i have is the Attaque, which i believe is the same as the Ocean Pro 2.0m beam which is 90hp/180kg

Dominic,

You're correct, sorry about that; I was reading too fast.

Yes I believe the Ocean Pro narrow beam is the same as the Attaque hull shape but I think they beefed up the transom to make them stronger on the Ocean Pro models than the orig. older Attaque's as four strokes are heavier than 2 strokes.

So probably a 75hp 4 stroke or a 90hp 2 stroke is the safe way to go.

The best thing to do is not listen to me and instead call Humber as 69cmw first suggested.

Call Humber. The age will matter. My old Seasafe is essentially a Mk1 O-Pro ad rated to 60hp /110 kg. If it was a year younger it could have been 125 kg.....

I emailed Humber when we considered RE-engining our old Attaque. They said 170kg.

Interesting ^

Yamaha F90 90hp dry weight is 169kg. The i4 115hp is 177kg (long shaft)

Evinrude E-Tec 90hp dry weight is 145kg. (long shafts). Their 115hp is 177kg.

Mercury 115hp four stroke is 163kg (probably normal shaft)

Honda's 90hp is 166kg (long shaft). their 100hp is the same weight.

I would probably pick the Mercury last in regards of durability.

What speed do you get out of the 85? My 5.3 does 42mph with Yamaha 70 and worked Laser II prop.

37 knots is the highest I've had. May have had a little help with tide.

That's great to hear! I was wondering the other day when I came across a pic I took as you drove off with her. I suppose one always has a special place in the heart for the 'first' boat.

37 sounds pretty much right, though at WOT you can pretty much hear the fuel tank emptying.
