How to (safely) create spray

Hi,

Ok, this sounds a bit mad but I got asked by a member of my sailing club which I do safety cover for, how do you create spray? They want this for the Raft Race next week, so I can purposely spray people. Now, for me to do this safely I have to be pretty far away from them, about 6 meters (one boat length). How do I do this without hurting anyone or causing unnecessary paperwork?

you would need a pump or buy some of those kids water cannons which would be best and safe enough so long as not directed at the face.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking,but they asked me to use the outboard engine...

i could think of quite a few reasons why a wouldn't even try.
nothing wrong with the good old fashioned bucket throw side ways plenty of spray

That sounds like just the kind of thing a sailing club would ask you to do🙄. You can just hear it in the club house after a pink gin or 2 " I say chaps, I have a spiffing idea, let's throw a load of the sprogs into the drink & get one of the lower orders to spray them at close quarters using the whizzy thingy on the back of his rubber dingy" what a jolly good wheeze, hoorah!!!

Can't you get the local fire brigade involved & get them to hose them down from the shore. To create any meaningful amount of spray over a distance requires shifting a lot of water.

I think the Fire Brigade are coming but you know, 1 thing isn't always enough for some clubs. I'll do the safety briefing on that. Pretty sure this idea came from a few pints, as you said....

dont want to sound like an old fart but in this day and age wheres there's pain there's a claim.
all the things that can go wrong using the engine are obvious but eye injuries induced by spray pressure or contaminants within the water unless you carry clean potable water.

dont leave yourself in the frame for blame your call
