Honda BF 90 alarm activation

2001 BF 90, what activates the overheat alarm, I tried grounding the rear temp sensor near spark plugs and it lights up the red overheat light in remote but no alarm. I tried grounding other sensor in head as well but red light does not come on and no alarm. I removed alarm from remote and tested with battery and it works fine. All wire connectors in harness etc... look like new, no corrosion at all. Thanks

Perhaps a failed thermostat, or blockage so water isn't cooling it properly

It is not overheating, it runs fine. I just want to test to make sure the alarm system is working so if it ever does overheat I will hear the alarm
