honda 5hp prop pitch

hi,has anyone tried fitting a prop with more pitch to honda 5hp?im thinking of buying another prop but not sure it going to help with getting the rib to go better.the rib(avon 280)will gain speed till half thottle then from half to full there is no change in speed the front lifts and it pushes water!very frustrating, thanks

Have you tried putting someone hanging over the bow - then moving aft? To be honest getting something to plane with 5hp won't be easy.

If it doesn't plane, then it'll do exactly what it's doing: top out at certain speed, then you can add a bunch of power for not much gain.

In truth, the same is true even when you do get it to plane; it just happens at a higher speed (takes a ton of additional hp for a few more knots.)
