Gauges....

Hi all

I have a Suzuki DT65 which came with all the controls/electrics loom but both the gauges were bust (tach and trim/tilt)so my question is...

Can i use any gauge as long as i wire it up correctly or does it have to be suzuki?

I may be able to get something at Beaulieu unless anyone has a set hiding somewhere.....

Jimmy I have a spare Quicksilver rev counter in the garage in good condition if you want to try it. Has a switch on the back to change from 2 - 6 cylinder outboards.

that would be great pete, but does that go to say that most gauges will work, as long as they are suitabe for the rev range?

Jimmy, recon there is only one way to find out. Some advice from Fairwehater Marine on how to wire it up should see you up and running with a rev counter. PM on it's way with phone number and address etc.

Jimmy,

Most guages will work with any engine - I've got a Suz tacho reading my Yam. As Pete says, the tachos are just a case of finding one with the approipriate number of poles, but most OEM tachos are selecable.

http://www.downloadingfiles.co.uk/te...0Reference.pdf

Pages 15/16 give you all the jucy details of the electrical string for most engines.....
