Hi, no problem at all.

Gnome/T-58 can be upwards of 1500hp!, I was looking at finding one of the lower powered units if possible at around 1000hp, but nothing is set in stone yet. A Velvet drive (B.W.) box I was thinking, they have handled massive Hp and load from a Blown BBC 8.2ltr at approx 1000hp, with a 5 drive Merc leg, so should be up to the job, but again still running through options, this is all new to me!.

Can i ask where you sourced your engine from please?, seems a great unit to work with but i have not found one for sale as yet.

Did she start and run all ok?.

Sounds an amazing project, I don't have any experience on the Gnome, but as you say 1500hp,, have you seen Turbine Marine.com, they have installed twin Gnomes etc in offshore boats?
Yes, cranked it up yesterday, all good!, so finishing off seats and woodwork now, did an iPhone video, but seems like you have to link through YouTube, so can't be bothered learning all that right now

Is it wrong that a crappy video of a RIB console should make me grin like a lunatic? Can't wait to see and hear it in action!

Ok, the Gnome is very popular as it's an ideal "big" serious engine, i.e. Worth the effort !, as turbine installations are a pain!
I had the driveshaft and coupling fabricated by Percival Engineering in Colchester (traction engine repairers) you may need them for your project?
As for sea trials?, ...scary stuff....still got some work to do but might put in a River Medina appearance Cows week!

Yep, The Gnome/T-58 seems the most popular for transplants!.

But the Rolls Royce Gem MK.205 that Everett has for sale I have not looked into that model...yet.

Yes, i did see that on your old video when the cruiser was in dry dock and the engine on the jib/hoist when measuring up for mounts, all noted and very helpful info too!.

This is all the type of thing i need to know and with the guys at Percival being able to do a shaft might just be what i need in the future, but you have not decided to use a seperate gearbox/reduction box?, was that just for a simple set up?.

I may have to have a ride out to Medina then, if you do go.

Ok, running a Bravo leg at 6000rpm is doable, the gearbox reduction is about 2:1 or close, so a matched prop is going at 3000revs, ........the gas driven power output shaft means you can run at any rpm from 6000, down to 0!, without any harm, of course you can only achieve full 400hp at 6000, any other "WOT "speed will be less than full power, Mark Nye of Nye Thermodynamics in Canada, has a great deal of experience with these engines on Bravo drives, in fact he supplies the disc brake Assy. for the output shaft on the Allison250, of which I have used with a great deal of help from him and his company.
You probably know of Jay Leno, who owns a y2k turbine bike in the US, he has some great YouTube vids of it , that was produced by MTT Click image for larger version
