Yes, that's probably it. What happens is the rungs slide all over the place and it is just too 'cheaply' made - feels as though everything is about to break. Also, the arrangement in and out the bag is a chinese puzzle at times and is simply extremely infuriating to get back in the bag.

With conventional 2-stroke engine expect something like 0,5 litres/1 horsepower/hour wot. With 4-stroke or new fuel injected 2-stroke 0,35-0,4 litres/1 horsepower/hour wot.

Hope this helps, even this is just a rule of the thumb.

Hmm, fair comment - I guess that if you want to regularly use something for getting back in time after time after water ski-ing or wake boarding, the steel ladders make sense. Gingercoastie - a thought... I'm very cautious about anything hung towards the rear of the RIB which could potentially foul the prop - I'm going to check whether my ladder is long enough to do this.

It is only hanging over the back for photo purposes, when I am recovering the boys (I don't swim) the engine will be off.
