you are carrying around (2727 kg of fuel )just under 3 tones of fuel on your 9 meter when full ( provideing my quick maths is correct ) .. no about 2600 kgs
what do you use her for ? she was originally designed to take 2400 kgs newspapers dover/calais+ 500 kgs inboard fuel
what do you carry , nowadays its just pure fun
and how fast is she at this weight with 400 hp about 40 knts with torque props and 48+ with high speed ones
i think she would weigh in aroung 4700 kg total .. correct but more to the 5000 mark

BUT i am upgrading the engines to 2*250 HPDI 2t yams. Compared to the original 200's ( 1994 vintage ) will in fact gain a few kgs.

Would also like to re-start a service Dover/Calais for my newspaper busines- but last time we had lots of problems with the DHB - as they hated ( hate) people fillling up boats with gasoline- and there is no barge for gas at Dover.
If you want photos - go to my posts and you will see some photos that I posted about christmas time.

thanks for the info i now think i know the boat ,

thats a realy impresive speed for the gross weight she is

and she would make a very profitable cargo buisnes rib carrying that weight at that speed

do you want to sell her

thanks j

Eupa,

Won't I can't understand is how can you afford to delivery newspapers to Calais with a rib and two huge outboards and presumably two crew. surely it would be cheaper to chuck the papers in the back of a transit & stick on the Euro Tunnel ? papers don't get wet, trains not effected by weather (err, well most of the time) and you don't have to load and unload down a harbour wall. Is there really that much money to be made with the first editions in Paris ?

What do you you bring back on the return run ?

Pete
