Flywheel puller needed

Hi does anyone have a source of a sensibly priced outboard flywheel puller I need to change a timing belt on a 25 yam & need the flywheel off
I've borrowed one in the past but would rather buy one but there doesn't seem to be much available in the UK .What I have found seems expensive at around £150
It would be good to have one to fit other makes in case we swap engines in the future.
Would be happy to buy a used one if someone has one they don't use
Cheers
Ken

hi Beemishken can you show a picture of the top of the flywheel so as to give an idea which one you need

Shouldn't be a major job to knock one up in the shed

A 3 leg puller won't do it as you risk damage to the flywheel most engines seem to have 3 holes set around the central boss for pulling the flywheel off. All the dealers seem to have the Johnson evinrude ones which are quite stout & have a nice fine thread and seem to fit the majority of engines but all I've found are about £150 but as pikey dave says probably not too hard to make. I was hoping someone had already copied them and were selling at a more realistic price

I got a Mercury/Mariner flywheel puller from the link below, might be worth a call to ask if he makes a Yamaha compatible puller

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/122017476447
This is the one most dealers seem to have but it's quite expensive by the time it's here in the UK .
I did see the one you posted Jeff it just looks a bit flimsy & i was hoping to find a cheaper version of or a close copy of the Johnson evinrude one as it seems quite robust maybe I'm just being fussy but I like well made tools

Your right buy cheap buy twice I did see one in a triangular shape but not sure it will pick up the holes on all engines plus a bit bothered if you buy copies you can end up with damaged threads then you are in the sh-t you might have to bite the bullet on this one

Ken, Buy the one that Jeff has a link to. Its the only one that will fit the bolt pattern and I will send you 3 bolts that will not stretch then snap.

Cheers Davie I need to come over to you and get those bits an bobs anyway when you back at work?
Is the 25 a smaller pcd than the 40/50's me and Dan have? I borrowed a Johnson/evinrude one off Dino when I did Dans but don't like to keep borrowing so was going to buy something that would do both

Same tool. Use the head bolts from a 50 2 stroke, they are harder than a whores heart. Been working right through xmas and will be over new year, phone me first though as another rig due in any day. ta

Work on any engine with 3 tapped holes in hub less than 75mm pcd. On older Suzuki some use 4 bolts.
