Evinrude gas assisted trim

Hi I would ge grateful for any advice , I have a 40 hp Evinrude with gas assisted trim and am having a problem with it . The engine wont stay trimmed it keeps moving down, I am wondering if there is a seal or something worn or has the gas escaped from the ram. If so is this a major job to fix, can I do it myself or does it need a profesional? any advice much appreciated thank you.

Gas assisted TRIM? New one to me-I thought evinrude only made Power Trim/Tilt, gas assisted tilt or neither?

If it's gas assisted tilt and it won't work properly then the only option is to replace the unit. You can't trim with it-that's the job of the trim pin.
