Fichts

Has anyone noticed, that fichts WERE unrelaible because the lazy fat Americans couldnt be bothered to bolt them together properly!!!! Until those Canadains Kicked there arse's Into shape, and Got them to build them right!
Ficht is by far the best injection 2 stroke out there, the problem is 'give a dog a bad name'.......

Just to prove the piont, I was talking to a guy with a 3 month old YAM 200 HDPI today, which miss's badly at tickover , But I dont here a bad word said about YAM'S...... the facts are that every dealer in every country has problem new Yams, hondas, mariners, and belive it or not OPTIS God for bid!!!

The early 200 and 150 Ficht's were most problematic, but that was Evinrude pushing the envelope, Mercury went to Opti because they were ultra safe and no comercail risk, but old tech stuff , and Yam sat on there hands to see what would happen!!, and then build 2 and 4 stroke to cover all fields. Suziki said 'lets kick Hondas ass' and they have done , and very well.........

Fichts are Good, and think the stories out number the problems by 5 to 1......... Production and company problem's are to blame on past porformance , which is sorted now..... just think, if you Brits had built them.....???????

The November 2002 issue of SBandR magazine has a boat test of a 150hp ficht. They thought it was brilliant then, and now the've had a year to iron out any small problems. it gave amazing fuel consumption and used less that a fifth of the oil the testers old 150hp johnson. The fichty being a direct desendant of the johnson.

They dont put any of there articles on the web though so you actually have to buy the back issue to read it.

From 2004, I will hereby garantee you that there will be no problems with any FICHT - system on Evintudes new engines!

Evinrude has had so much bad publisity that they are changing the name from FICHT to Di (direct injection)

I have heard that the difference in performance between Evinrude 225 hp and 250 hp, is very small! Anyone?
