Evinrude 140 V4 big end replacement

Hi,
Does anyone have experience of replacing a big end in an Evinrude 140 V4?
Or, does anyone know of a good (and cheap!) place to take it for repair? I've tried Seamark Nunn in Felixstowe but they think it could be a £2500 job? £1600 of this is Labour???

The other option is to try myself (), does anyone have a workshop manual?

Thanks a lot

Paul

I wouldn't bother-the motor isn't worth it. Get another motor.

seen outboard cranks reground and bigger needle bearings fitted I've also seen cranks metal sprayed/built up but usually end up in the same state or worse in a very short time new crank is the answer
I think the 85 115 and 140 shared the same crank so you may be able to source a used crank but if your paying £1600 labour to fit it its still not worth the expense in my opinion
