evenrude e tec 175

hi people

has any body heard that the 2007 2.6 litrs e tecs have any problem with power heads or zilynders?

because my 175 hp broke down last week the 4 th zylinder is not working any more but i should be lucky because i still have warranty until middle of julie.

i also wonder how long it can take to repair this problem and if it will come back after an other 200 hours, and how can this happen?

thanks rib guys.

regards max.

Powerhead failures are not something that the E-tecs suffer from as a rule. However they do not like shit fuel and the E10 sold in the US and OZ now contains ethanol and attracts water which causes problems with injectors and will cause cylinders to go out. Important things for you to check are that you have the correct diameter fuel hose fitted and good quality water seperating fuel filters fitted.

There is also a really good website up and running for E-tec owners here...

One of the main technical experts on this forum is from Australia and will no doubt be a good man for you to speak to he calls himself "Huey" on the forum
