Etec V 4 stroke noise levels

We have all seen here how closely they compare in terms of economy but to all you new etec owners out there-How similar in noise levels is an etec to its equivalent 4 stroke?

dBs

We have 200 and 225 Etecs fitted as twins on various boats.

We could only describe the signature as something that sounded very much like a 4 stroke but quieter again. It did take us a while to get used to the new signature and reduced dB but would consider it superb.

We will have a couple of Suzi 250 4 strokes on trail in a few weeks so we can compare notes with identical boats and set up alongside each other.

Cheers

John

Hi,

There is a short video clip on my site www.flatcalm.com go to links. It takes a while to load.

This was taken before the prop was changed, so you can hear it cavitate a bit. The flag is quite loud too

I would say that the engine is nearly as quiet as a BF225 Honda with a slightly higher pitch. However it doesn't scream like the previous generation 'Rude.

Cheers.

Ian.

Why oh why do people use streaming video instead of giving the option to download the file first and then play it back with whatever media player you wish???
