Engine Servicing

Good evening,
can anyone recommend a good, knowledgeable and reliable outboard service facility around Manchester.
I've given up trying to get my motor started and need a professional to look at it and give it a thorough service.

Hi, Bill Higham (just google him, do not know how to post links lol) is in your neck of the woods, cannot vouch for him though as I have never used him.

Shipshape Marine Hazel Grove Stockport, he serviced a small engine for me and did a decent job and he is reasonably priced.

Starting problem & motor service booked with Shipshape on Saturday. drop off at 9am collect at 2pm.

Full service including new impellor and starting problem sorted, he's confident that he can do it in 5 hours.

Forgive my ignorance, but how long should a full service take and what service items should be replaced?

Had my motor serviced a couple of weeks ago at Shipshape Marine in Stockport and have to say I'm properly pleased.
Starting problem sorted with new cdu and a new set of plugs (of the correct type).
All greased, carb fettled and fluids changed/topped up etc. Comprehensive invoice showing everything done and individual costs for all the service parts & a couple of other bits I asked to be sorted. Everything was quoted up front.
I'm sure Shipshape are not the cheapest, and they certainly don't have a glitzy workshop but they are local to me and did a top job.

Had the boat on Loch Lomond and the performance improvement is very noticeable, its a fast little boat and starts/runs great.
