Engine scam?

Just wondering if I am the only person a bit cautious with this engine?
0% feedback as a new lister and doesn't even say where in the country it is. Start price £88

In image there appear to be other boats, which suggests a dealer/yard- so why is this the first engine? Or is it a pinched photo to offer a sale and grab money? Needs more info to be safe, contact the seller through e bay with questions about, where can you inspect it, where can you collect it, warranties

so a q to seller about where it is.

ask for an extra photo... say the other side of the cowl.

i tell you story that bid on vw engine 225 in may was scam, and ebay said pay for it 6k on paypall if theres problem you do case, sure am going do that !

I'm ready to put my money to buy a dodgy engine so that w can track a dodgy dealer.

I'm up for £3k.

I'll pay on the understanding that we'll chase.

Of course its s scam. I would never consider buying any items off ebay of this type without speaking to the seller first. If you drop them a message asking for a phone number so you can discuss the item and they dont respond or refuse then dont bid is my policy.

I think it looks moderately genuine(everyone has to start somewhere on ebay!). I'd bid to win if it's what you want, and simply go up there and pick it up in person and pay cash. Very unlikely that a dodgy seller will agree to that if he doesn't actually have an engine to sell (states collection in person as a delivery method on that listing).

Middlesbrough isn't a million miles from Lynch's but i'd have thought there were nearer dealers.

try for extra pics...

You could just ask why the pics were taken at Lynch's if the engine's at middlesbrough!

Ive just sent a message about it.
i want to see it running and have asked about cash on collection.

if it stays cheap and i hear it run ok,ill buy it and double my money very quickly.

As we all suspected it was a total scam- Phil Lynch e mailed to say fraudulent and he had tried to get it off e bay, and he NEVER uses ebay to sell his kit, so worth remembering if another one come ons

Just spotted this thread. I'm about an hour away from Middlesbrough (Ripon) if there's anything up this way in the future I'm more than happy to have a nosy !
