engine / remote help please

Hi, I got an ex-m.o.d. centre console for my rib, complete with steering an merc/mariner remotes. I am consdering an ex-contract mariner 40 which is the newer style, will this be compatible with older style remotes?

Don't see any reason why not. The cables should be the same fitting. The only thing you may need to check is the electrics harness as they changed the plug. You may have to put in a seperate ignition switch and kill switch somewhere on the console with a new harness. If you find a good Mariner dealer they may even do a deal and throw in control box with the engine.
