Engine Hours???

Hi,

New to forum although already finding it really useful! My question is that i am looking to replace my rib with another but replacement has 5 year old engine that has done 550 hours (Mercury 225 Optimax)

Is this too high???? Others have said not to touch it but I think you guys out there know a hell of a lot more....

Thanks in advance

Kevin

Optimax can give you a print out as to how the engine was used and at what revs if used hard it will show up so then you will need to make a decision. 550 is not high and if serviced on a regular basis should not pose any problems . Ask to see service history and get it attachd to the computer to give a read out

Thanks both, helps to make decisions re viewing rib. The local marine engineer offered to do print out of engine data but would have made commitment by that piont..

Anyway, looking for new rib so if anyone out there looking to sell 6.5 mtr plus just let me know.

Thanks Again

Kevin
