engine covers

where can i purchase one of those posh cowl covers, that fit nice and snug to top cowling to protect it from being sunbleached whilst stood up on moorings,,

you normally see them on boats abroad, made to measure, and left on at all times?
many thanks looked every place with no luck, std covers yes
cheers

i want one as well so when you find out let me know, prefer one with a soft interior

if no luck in the next 2-3 weeks then i will ask when i go to get my cover altered to allow for the screen and stainless surround, the place i am going will make them for sure

funny thing is i purchased a sewing maching off ebay a couple of years ago so i could make up little items i need, used it once or twice but i may get some suitable material and make one up and take it from there!! cant take much to do and if i get some nice soft material for inside it would be quite smart.

the sewing machine has a throttle so is great for revving but not good for straight stitchs!

mad i know but seemed a good idea at the time

I was thinking the fabric might be something like that used for fender covers and found these . . . www.fendasox.co.uk/outboard.html or www.fendequip.com

There's quite a few firms who make these. It's quite stretchy fabric, so approx sizes would probably do the job. Tricky bit is going round air intakes etc if you make them/get them made. Course that depends on if you expect to be using while running?

I had mine made for me by a sailmaker in Lymington, soft pvc like the rest of the boat cover,£45 approx.
As it fits so tightly, being lined isn't necessary

Got mine following a thread from MeMe last year ........... ships from Canada and can take 4+ weeks , but excellent cover. Lined and breathable, either cowl only or with zip-on section for leg and prop

Solent Divers in Portsmouth make hundreds of them for us at work, take the top Cowl with you and they will make one to fit, or they might already have the pattern for what you need.
