I will be doing a bit of a whistlestop tour of "down south" next month, which could possibly open up a few potential locations for finding the elusive swivel bracket I need to get rid of my rusty old tilt rams on the Merc & upgrade it to PT.
On grounds that I'll be going Scotland - Essex - South Wales - & back in a matter of 5 days , does anyone know of any shops with "parts skips"? I've found that the sort of place that tends to hoard useful piles of old broken engines don't usually appear on t'internet.....
So, does anyone know of anywhere that isn't Boating Mania in Upminster? (Not for bad reasons - many moons ago they helped me to bring a '72 Johnson back to life by supplying a lump of gearbox
so I phoned them, but they don't have a suitable Merc in their skip
)
I believe NS marine in Littlehampton may have what I'm after (they seem to thave the rest of the engine on their Ebay shop!) but they're not exactly "en route".....
