Got the bolts this morning , went to fit them , dropped a nut in the river , cross threaded the other , then snapped the ratchet internals !

Why do I do these things !

Hopefully marinatuic will have them (again) in the morning ! ..........

I asked because Mercury use an imperial thread bolt and I wondered whether you'd bought metric fine thread bolts to replace them with, but used the original imperial nuts, hence cross threading.

Great thread. So steel, A2 or A4 has mainly to do with corrosion resistance and markin like 8.8 with the strengt of the bolt. But is it so that original engine bolts typically has the 8.8 spec, or is it less or more?
