Looks like the batteries I ordered aren't Numax - bugger!

Ive some how ordered XV24MF Powerline Leisure Battery 12V 88Ah - Leisure Batteries - Powerline Leisure Batteries
and not Numax CXV24MF Sealed Leisure Battery 12V 86Ah 1000MCA 500 Cycles XV24MF - Leisure Batteries - Numax Leisure Batteries

Thought they were cheap...

Now for the ignition switch - knowing my luck I will get one from a Volvo...

Steve I really don't want to ruin another evening for you but Evinrude specify that the starter battery is rated at a minimum of 675 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) if in use below zero degrees this should be increased to 750 CCA.

The batteries you have ordered are rated at 570CCA so are below the recommended minimum. Whilst the engine will probably start they are by no means ideal and you may experience issues when the temperature drops.

Its a bit misleading as the part number is very similar to the Numax versions which are 900CCA.

I'm confused. They tell me the power lines ones I have ordered in the link above are the same as the Numax ones I've linked so 900CCA

I googled the model number and found a number of them listed. They also seem to go under the brand AlphaLine...

Alphaline XV24MF 12v 88ah Leisure / Caravan / Marine Battery | eBay

I may be wrong (I hope so) I would ask them to confirm in writing that the CCA is the same as the Numax. Its a bit odd they don't have it on the website (they do with the Numax)

This is what I asked, for them to confirm in writing that it's the same. I got an email back saying yes all the same - but the battery hasn't got any numbers on it...

I don't know what to do, going to see what the cost is / returns procedure.

How can I test a battery CCA?

Not sure its something you can easily test Steve.

I would just go back to them and tell them you saw the CCA was 575 on another website and that you want them to take the batteries back unless they can send you manufacturer specs confirming that they are the same as the Numax.
