E-tec prop nut torque

Another question just to prevent some possible cursing tomorrow ... what torque should the prop securing nut on an E-tec 150 be done up to?

I should have handbooks etc in the boat but sod's law it will have been swiped or got wet, so just in case and to prevent unwanted delays in hitting the water could somebody confirm this please?

I can't immediate find it on either RIBnet or Google but I expect somebody has a book ... from what I remember on the old Johnson it was very low (something like 15nm) so don't want to overdo it!

Leave the text field blank, untick the box, and click view. Does't appear to work in Chrome or Safari, but IE shows it fine, bit fiddly to get it to the right pages, but that is the entire collection of Evinrude owners manuals. Those for 2011 don't appear to be up, but I doubt much will be different to the 2010 issue

Now that should be tonight sorted for you

PS, - its 54 N•m (40 ft. lbs.) for the 150 quoted directly from the manual

PPS, - bet you're a bit excited now

Product Information
Install propeller nut and tighten to a torque of
70-80 ft. lbs. (95-109 N·m).
Install keeper on propeller nut, align keeper
slots and cotter pin hole.
Install new cotter pin and bend ends to secure.
Remove block of wood. Make sure engine is
in NEUTRAL; give propeller a spin.

Thanks, that seems v tight compared to others but obviously right if that's what the book says - I guess the mounting method is completely different to my old Johnson as that just had a nylon washer which would squish completely at that sort of torque.

What is the "keeper" (maybe this will be self explanatory when I see it?)

Roll on tomorrow afternoon, shame the tide will be dead low but that ain't going to get in the way

Just got in - somewhat exhausted

I collected it this morning, pleased to say all unharmed and in good condition

There's a few issues that need sorting out, some of which surprised me but I suppose a few teething issues are inevitable. After a bit of tinkering this morning I spent about 2hrs out this afternoon and can confirm that it goes like sh^@ off a shovel
