well the 90 yam is a "fossil oil" burner and seems to be a common case of the e tecs not getting enough fossil oil so that seems to be the problem!

There are 42 registered E-tec owners on here so far one of these (Markoboyo) has posted that he has a problem. As yet we dont even know what that problem is or what has caused it.

Thousands of these engines are sold in the US on a monthly basis and apart from the odd Forum NUMPTY trying to either wind up his mates or some bloke who has treated his engine like shit and is trying to get a freebie out of BRP there is little to no negative feedback.

So why don't you go and stick that woodburning stove hanging from the back of your rib up your arse.

No I just typed "e-tec" into the members search field for engines and it came up with 42, in fact I was wrong because if you type "etec" in you get another 47 so that makes a total of 89 (-1) happy e-tec owners.

Now how far up did your woodburner fit BTW

3 knots is easy to make up even if the engine size is 60hp difference, actually when you look at it like that, you need more speed!!

Just because 89 people haven't posted problems on a public forum, it doesn't mean they haven't suffered any.

I reckon Chris wouldn't make it known if his e-tec started to become troublesome?

Oi! belt-up.

The reason Opti's are so noisy is to cover-up the knocking and banging.

I think any problems I had have been covered on here....

Most of the problems were with my old 115 however this was down to bad rigging by a certain bunch of cowboys in Exeter. Once I got my head round the fact they were full of BS and found Race Marine in Taunton my problems were solved.

It comes back to that problem that the engine will only perform well if it is set up right to start off with.

I have had a set of top engine mounts on my new 150 because 1 of them had delaminated from the metal tube however I would not say this is a common problem and these type of mounts are common in Evinrudes going back 20 years.

Wow you really do know how to flog a dead horse don't you, poochy

It was a gradual thing that mainly happened in the first 20 hours, however I doubt the NYD '09 race did much to help.
