What club is that - the obnoxious old gits one? When I have a difference of opinion with someone I do NOT resort to personal abuse - it's just not very gentlemanly.

The price is going up because they are having to dump a load of fuel and re-supply quickly. This will have some effect on the short-term market. The oil & petrol commodity traders will take advantage and push the market price up. So not the retailers or even distributors (although of course they may still take a slice!).

What happens to the contaminated fuel? Presume it must have some use to someone?

Make you mind up Biggles! One minute you're agreeing with Codprawn that the contamination story was a "whitewash" and that it was obviously a problem with the ethanol addative. Now you decide that it's "obviously" contamination from the diesel tank!
