As indeed did some of my own. They were spurred on by this incentive scheme:

... and we're still not happy about it!

I think mine would have been due to the 'Lowland Clearances' if there ever was such a thing.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire I suppose, with the your spud famine they must have walked straight into. Or am I about 100 years out?

You've answered your own question as it were. It's your awful weather that's eroded all the rocks down to nothing.
After this last month and a half I can quite believe that's true.

And what's left is so deep now after all the rain that there's nothing left as a danger to surface navigation.
Ah! That's what we like 'those with very loud voices' to believe, so keep it quiet. The resultant broken keels, outdrives, propellors and leaky boats keep this village in employment all winter.

Anyway, I get more rain than any of ye, and C-P is second with about 1500mm annually. Do I get a prize? John West hat???
Depends on what part of Swansea - it varies quite a bit. Just my luck to live in the wettest and windiest bit. Last 2 years have been about 2200mm - that is more than the Amazon jungle gets!!! Back in about 2000 it was about 1200mm - and we USED to think that was bad.

Global warming has a lot to answer for!!!
