Fully agree Bigmuz7 - we are in the same position. Bloody northern weather! These lucky b.. from the south have all the lovely weather - but still can't stop dinging their boats!!!

Yes, but our northern weather is what stops those southern b.....s from coming up here and telling us, in very loud voices, how to live here. It's worth a lot of crappy weather to keep them away.

Stop squabbling, you Celtic raingods, the English get a buzz out of that "divide & conquer" stuff.

Would yis be quiet already, yer scaring the tourists .

Hmmm. Most of my ancestors came from north of the border, and it seems to me they couldn't leave fast enough 150 years ago. Having been a resident of Edinburgh for 10 years or so in the late 80's (the civilised side of Scotland I believe) I miss only a few things:- snow in the winter and lovely pure tap water. Why anyone would buy bottled mineral water up there was beyond me.

You've answered your own question as it were. It's your awful weather that's eroded all the rocks down to nothing. And what's left is so deep now after all the rain that there's nothing left as a danger to surface navigation.
