Custom fuel tanks

Does anyone know of a supplier of custom made plastic fuel tanks ?

A friend purchased a half finished project and the locker where you would put the fuel tank is a funny size, it would take a tank 500 L x 290 W x 250 H

Any suggestions would be gratefully received

Hi

Custom tanks are silly money so I would go for the best fit option. yes you might have a few litres less, but when you need to take so much with you anyway this is so small a percentage its not worth it.

Feel free to call us on Monday I and will look through the trade books for you

Dave
PS I take it those sizes are in mm not cm!
PPS what size engine do you have and how far do you go in your boat at cruising speed?

Yup, mm

Usually in at Largs, plough about Bute, Aran, sometimes take a run round to Loch Fyne so like to have a bit of range.

Boat has a single 90 on it and its a 5m rib.

The issue here is that custom plastic moulded tanks need custom tooling. For a one-off, you'd be paying tooling costs plus piece cost which even with a simple blow moulded tank would be expensive.

I think you need to go best fit plastic (cheapest) or custom made steel (biggest.)
