Correct torque on prop nut for Yamaha F40

I've just replaced the prop on my Yamaha F40 and the handbook says "tighten the nut to the correct torque" but nowhere does it tell you what the torque is. Does anyone know? or am I better off just tightening the nut right up and then backing it off until I can get the split-pin in?

Yes thats whats done but use your common sense as to how tight you do it up in the first place also make sure you grease prop well

Thanks for that Peter, you're a star. I put plenty of good quality waterproof grease on the shaft after I had cleaned it because it looked as though it hadn't seen any for a while. All seems to be ok now I've got the prop bolted back on. Tightened it until it nipped and backed it off just a tad to get a new split-pin through.

How are you and the misses keeping? Would be nice to get together for an excursion or two next season if you're up for it.

Chewy did come and give me a hand but we did'nt need the socket and scaffold pole. He simply held the nut with his arse cheeks while the prop was doing 50,000 rpm.... stalled the engine but did the job.
