CDI for Mariner 60E

Hi There,

I'm finding it difficult getting a new CDI for a Mariner 60E, 1983, 2 stroke, 2 cylinder Yamaha, 6F0.

The CDI is a TIA02-17 but I believe that a mercury 97815M or R6F0-85540-10-00 will also do. All are hard to get in the UK even as second hand spares.

Has anyone any experience in trying to modify another type of CDI unit to work with this engine? Does anyone know a good place where I might find one of the above models at a reasonable price?

Thanks in advance.

As it's a 30 year old part that;s not surprising! I guess the Irish contingent will havea mor elocal list of places to you, but places I know with buckets of spares are, in no particular order:

DA Marine (Newport on Tay)
MJ Marine (New Holland)
Boating Mania (Upminster)

And others that I can't remeber the names offhand :
Pembroke Dock
Rayleigh (Essex)
one by the Canal to the East of Nottingham.

And off course good old Bill Higham in Manchester.

Google should find them all

Thanks, I'll look them all up. I can see a few new in the US for about £200, a guy nicely offered me a 30 year old used one in the UK for only £180!!!!!!! Needless to say, I turned him down.

Wow, they are expensive!. Retail price of £295.82 Plus Vat. Price to Ribnet members 10% off and £1.00 for delivery. Not in stock in the UK so 7-10 day delivery.

£295.82 is the best local price I have seen yet for a new one. Rapair quoted me nearly £300 to repair my own one and send it back to me (shipping added to the price). They were not able to sell me a new one.

So far, the worst price I have been quoted for a new one is £519.41 +VAT. £295.82 + VAT seems to be average
