CDI Coil cracked

Could this crack in the CDI coil cause poor spark resulting in poor revs ?

I would say so, the coil will no longer be insulated and can arc to other components

Yes I changed them over this morning and this seems to be the problem, new one ordered.
Would this also account for an over temp warning?
Cheers Bombardc2

If it was run for a while with a misfire it could get quite hot and cause the overheat warning

Regards
Bill

Try filling the cut with epoxic cement to isolate arcing, keep old one as spare. That part seems to be a ignition coil, you should have one per cylinder. If when placing a new one, still continue to have temp issues, check water pump condition, probably impeller is worned achieving low cooling pressure than required.

Happy Boating
