An excellent drive, but in most cases the boat has to be built around the drive, that is to say, you don't just bolt it to the boat!

I'm interested in the predicted speed of this 11 metre rib, IMHO I think it's most unlikely!!!

Sounds like you're getting a redbay. Are you going for a fully enclosed boat or for a console/canopy? Power wise i recommend copying an 11m called Dorus Mor, which has twin 350 Yanmars and hamilton jets. It's good for at least 45 knots and maneuverability with the twin jets is very good. It's a real nice boat.

If you just have to have a standard drive, i'd go for bravo 2s. They are more reliable and would work better with a boat as heavy as a laden 11m.

Thanks Chaps for all your replys, Just to confirm I intend to put 2 yanmars into the boat, had looked at the yamaha 421 but think they might have a problem at the moment with this engine, information received from a boat owner who has installed 2 x270hp this year.....his comment "don`t touch with a barge pole"
Still have not ruled out the volvo D6......wish me luck....thanks again
