Suzuki specifications here Suzuki UK

They list there figures in KW and they claim the DF140 to be 103KW

1 kilowatt = 1.34102209 horsepower

1.34 x 103 = 138HP or have i got this horribly wrong!

suzuki scoop on 140 150

i think it this is the thread, i didnt know this, but that may explain why i top out at 40 knots, (may try diff pitch prop) but its not a slouch of a speed, and pushes my 6.3m boat with ease, never had a problem with it, is very quiet, and economical, inspires complete confidence!!!!!

the issue was around what they claim and how the hp test is done and what independant testers had found. word on the street is that the unit is nearer 127hp, why would suz market a 140 and a 150? some suspect that the 140 might get rebadged to a 130 in the near future

just what i have heard and had confirmed by suz themselves

but as mentioned before it is a fantastic engine and there are examples with thousands of hours on them with no issues

http://whatis.techtarget.com/definit...790194,00.html

this link shows how to convert kilowatts into horsepower, the suz 140 is 103kw, and the equation is times kw's by 1.34, to get horsepower, so 103 times 1.34 is 138.02hp for the suzuki 140!!!!!

Yeah, just done that, further up the thread, except I didn't have to use an online calculator

Fkk me you must have a lot of fingers and toes.

I would have always said a Yamaha but there a lot of people banging on about the Suz1 140 and have been for a long time. So for me that makes it a clear choice an Opti 135.

The Suzi's have been around long enough that reliabilty issues would start to be mentioned by now so I guess they might be worth a look

it was a couple of traders who do sell the 140 that shared the info originally, and i asked the guys at the suz stand!

but there is not getting away from them being superb engines
