Mine is a 04 engine too. Is that one badged a DI?

After buying a low hours used engine, the dealers that fitted it had to replace the Oil pump staight away due to the old one being fauly. This is the only problem I've had since owning it for nearly 2 years.

I think the Evinrude released the Etec series the following year

At that age it is probably a DI or Ficht Ram.

Either of these should be OK. Its the older Fichts that I would run away from.

But on a rib that size 200HP would be a minimum for me.

Yes, I think they were ok from 2003, but older ones had a tendency to self-destruct.
