Battery For 50HP

Hi guys,

I am seeking advice on what is the smallest battery i could fit that would be ok to run a 50hp outboard.

I remember reading a really interesting article posted a while back about how marine batteries were a total waste of money and an ordinary car type battery is just as good and less expense.

Can anyone recommend what type of car battery to buy (amperage etc).

Many thanks.

Pop down your local motor factors (not Halfords) and get a battery for a mini (old type, not BMW). That will be fine and should cost around £30.
