Anyone tried Exol TCW3?

Anyone tried this stuff? It's rather cheap, but it's TCW3.

I had a look on their website. Seem to indicate they are designed for air cooled 2 strokes

"OPTIMA RACING TWO STROKE OIL (SYNTHETIC)
Optima Racing two stroke oil has been designed to give maximum protection to air cooled two stroke engines working under high speed and severe loading conditions where a JASO FC specification lubricant is required. Recommended for use in competition motorcycles and a variety of two stroke applications such as mopeds, motor scooters and chainsaws. It is suitable for pre mix and oil injection systems. That is the only one on their site with TC-W3, not sure why there is power range in the advert either, generally they are either ok for 2 stroke outboards or not?? The specific outboard oil isnt mentioned on their website

That's confusing-by design, low ash TCW3 shouldn't be suitable for aircooled 2 strokes.

I think you're right-it's time for an email.

Strange that Exol don't list any product as Outboard oil" on their website, yet all the other they have are listed on ebay etc word for word the same.

I do like the idea of cheap oil if it is good though

Use Rock Oil - prob just as cheap and it's good stuff!!!

I tried Rock Oil. Awful, smokey stuff when premixed. I'm using Morris TCW3 at the mo which is about the same price but far far better.

Im with Codders on this one.

Ive been using the rock oil MP3 stuff for a while now. I have found it to be very good in the Tohatsu 70. My son uses it in his Suzuki Tigershark jetski also. At around £2.80 lt ( I got 25lts) its about half the price of the quicksilver stuff.

Was it the MP3 semi synthetic? I get no trouble with it!!!

Yep!
Using it as premix, it oils my plugs up significantly more at low speeds and smokes like a chimney on startup. Morris TCW3 doesn't smoke and doesn't oil up as badly either. It's comparable to quicksilver but doesn't smell quite as nice when running

Codders & Nos do you find any reduction in speed, take off or overall performance with thi stuff compared to Quicksilver. Reason I am asking is I was once advised by a goon engineer that it is not the petrol that counts but the oil and always to use good quality oil.

No,no difference at all.
Neither Rock Oil or Morris are cheap and nasty-they just aren't badged Quicksilver.

Their synthetic gearbox oil is great for drive legs - despite what people think just cos it's not badged marine doesn't mean you can't use it - ask Morris technical dept - they are very helpful.
