Not getting rid because of the issues I've had with it, I'm sure it will be fine once it's fixed, and I love the boat.... but I'm going for my friends 7.5m RIBCRAFT with a 250 Suzuki on the back.... its another good chunk of cash on top but I love Ribcrafts

I agree with Kerny, Ian can be very forgetful, but I'm sure he will do his very best for you, he sorted out some warranty issues on my old Etec 90 a few years ago, sound fella, just not enough hours in the day, especially this time of the year...... Just keep phoning and the best of luck with it

I've tried him again.
My main priority is getting it back on the water, I've already paid 400+ for an injector the week after a 800 service (with a few bits maintained).

I'm sure I'll be paying that again within the next week for an "alternator" or whatever the ETEC equivalent is. I just want the warrentee confirmed so I can sell it with it.

This has just been one long expensive headache. the sooner the boat is sold the better.

Credit where it's due, Ian has called me back.

No more update on the warrentee, BRP still arguing the toss. We might here something this week.

He suspects the fault on mine is the EMM. 1000 + for the part, then there's fitting.

Slightly mortified.

I thought that the warranty is 5 (non commercial) end of, what are they arguing about. Not sure if you are already a member of this Etec forum but the guys on there do know there stuff and might be of some help.

Is that the equivalent to the ECU?

I hope they reimburse the work already done.

The standard warranty is now 5 years but at the time the engine was bought it was only 3 year but a few people who bought through LPB took advantage of a special offer of 5 years.

Yes, it's the engine management module. Only the best engines have them, totally sealed don't you know
