another Boats and outboard scam
We have found another scam from a boats and outboards advert.
The engine was based in N Ireland and was a meant to be a 2005 that had just been serviced and was from a marine outboard company. One of the posters on another forum sent it here got the engine sent to us (direct from the seller) and this is what we found:
Lots of faults with the engine including PTT not working, wrong spark plugs bodged wiring, repainted power head and definitely not a 2005. When we spoke to the buyer he did some digging around and found out the seller did not even work for the marine company, the pictures did not show key faults, etc,
He now wished he had not just used the boats and outboards privacy number that start in 070 and called the outboard dealer direct as that way he would have known that the seller does not work there!
a costly mistake that is now being reported to the police.
