any comments gratefully appreciated. This is the sort of set up I am looking for but just a bit unsure about the engine don't want anything that is going to be to expensive to run.
thanks
Well .. when it comes to boating inevitably some things become expensive

I like that engine, you'll get decent economy with it on that set up, compared to most other makes of its age, I really miss the 150 optimax I had, it was very frugal on a 6.3m I had , they both share the same V6 block, and it runs sweetly might be worth paying someone to check the motor if you can before you buy though ..

I've got a Ribtec 5.85 with an elderly 90 Yamaha 2 stroke, it's seriously under powered having a top speed speed of 30kts, I'm looking to re-engine with either a 135 or 150 opti, I reckon the set up your looking at is bang on.

PS probably seen it but this thread http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?...ht=ribtec+5.85 is a mine of info about the 5.85.

Don't the SR 5.4 boys do cartwheels over those Yam 90's? If it's a beauty, it might do rather well.
