Guys

This will be my last post on this thread as I didn't want and don't want this to get in to a public argument.

I can confirm this sale is nothing to do with Ian Sharlot or PPT.

I am an honest guy and I do treat others as I expect to be treated, if I buy something without seeing it I expect I am saving money on travelling and time and take the risk or i go and view it. You will see in the advert a full running history was offered. The warranty and registration is easily checked on marine powers website, me or the vendor had nothing to hide.

At the request of the Vendor the engine was run for 1 hour in fresh water before going on the pallet and shipped, it was running like a dream. I can sleep at night knowing this. The damage occurred while in the possession of the new owner.

I will do the correct thing by the customer to keep everyone happy, please remember I only started this thread to see what peoples point of view was.

Jono

Jono

With all due respect you decided to start this thread and so it is only fair that Jamie put forward his side of events. Jamie is working today installing yet another new Opti on one of my new builds so as soon as he gets time he will be here.

I would like to encourage for this year the moderaters to step in early to discourage slagging. And whats it got to do with Olmec i dont beleave he was the purchaser. So my vote goes to stop the thread and leave it for the two parties to sort out.in private

I have been reading this but don't fully understand the sequence of events here.
1. Was the runout found on installation and it then threw a rod? In which case it wouldn't have been sensible to run the motor IMO?
2. Or was the motor delivered with runout and a rod thrown.?
3. Or was the motor run and then runout found on the shaft, after the rod had been thrown?
The thread isn't immediately clear on which of the three possible scenarios is the correct one.

I don't see any slagging going on. Everything seems very civil so far.

Nobody is stopping him. Jono appears to be trying to canvas opinion as to what is fair in this case, it seems that he has no legal liability
