I might be wrong about the Suzuki 25hp on, it might be a short shaft, how can I tell if is long or short

Measurement is from the top of the transom to the bottom of the anti-cavitation or anti-ventilation plate. Standard shaft outboard is 15" and pretty sure older Zodiacs sibs are all standard shaft. The new Futura with over-sized tubes uses a long-shaft engine.

Hi Sparticus,
I've just measured it,
From the top of the transom to the bottom of the ventilation, it's 18"

Using a phone or PC?

I only use a PC or laptop and it's easy. Just click Go Advanced at the bottom of the reply window then Manage Attachments and follow from there.

Might be different with a phone?

That's a very nice example you have there mate defo short shaft if they were bought together I guess not a lot of hours use if so that would give me confidence in the engine without a dought.

Ahh yes... pics always help. I've had a few Suzuki OBs of that era and they've always been fine... if not quite so popular as the Mercury or Yamaha models. I'm guessing it's 1990s? Photo of the engine under the hood would be useful... I think that could either be a twin cyl single carb... or a 3cyl with 3 carbs?? But the hood looks a little low to be a 3cyl??

Is it on remotes?

Yep looks great... remotes and a seat... total luxury for a SIB!

Tiny point... not sure about that R-clip in the prop nut. They usually have a locking nut or a nut with split pin. R-clips can be disturbed and spring off.
