From what ive read you should set the idle mixture to the highest rev point?
Lean is Mean

just to update, ran on the water for the first time last week and returned the mixture to where it was originally (2 turns out) in the water idle was still a touch high but ran perfect so "if it aint broke".

I may try fine tuning the mixture again next run out when I can adjust whilst in gear.

Thanks for you all your help!

Hi

Why 2 turns try 1 1/2 as long as you are not below recommended setting

set the mixture to one and a half turns out from lightly seated. Two turns out and you are giving the power head ( the engine) a little extra oil and increasing fuel consumption. We used to set the R.N.L.I. forty Hp OBMs, at two and one eighth out from lightly seated
