What was that for a unit or to service it. volvos are dear to buy same as yam's but volvo put a lot of money in to training and back up for there dearlers wich then in turn makes a beter boating life for you. yam are good but not as good as volvos.

not a volvo rep or any thing just work for french marine. we are deals for them all reli just find volvo ther best.

You need to do a bit more Googling, Cod. They break away on severe impact.

Went to the Southampton boat show
looking for possable diesel engines looked at the new BMW (badged Yammar)
3 lt turbo total dry weight 310 kg aganst the yanmar 315
and the Volvo D6 310hp not a massive diffance in price on any of them.
The BMW looked a modern engine but no track record
I did like the idear that the leg on the Volvo is there own. and that you only have the leg serviced once a year cost £200
any thoughts

You missed the word "supposed"

Also the props look very vulnerable facing forward with nothing to protect them!!!

That's still going to bugger you up more than a sterndrive kicking up though-assuming they actually DO break away

At a guess it'd probably involve a specially reinforced hull as well-adding to the cost somewhat.
