what about oil consumption for the etec 2 stroke??? someone must know?? does that outweigh fuel savings?? or does it equate to the cost of changing oil in a 4 strokers service??

40 -ish quid every 100 hrs (8 Litres of synthetic).....for a big four stroke.... plus the cost of the filter...

How much is the oil for E-tec how much dose it burn per mile etc.
add that to petrol costs plus is the service 3 years or 300 hours i/e I did approx 180 hours last year so i would be servicing after 18 months what is the service schedule after that would it be 100 hours and how much is a service. This information as been asked for by my brother in law (the lazy git)

No, I didn't see Scorpion's spreadsheet.

To be quickest in terms of acceleration to say 20 kts and top speed - that would be good!

On the other hand, the idea of a 2 stroke (lightweight plus lots of power strokes) appeals to me and if it is anywhere near as good as people say, then I don't think that I shall be disappointed.

I suspect that all of the modern engines are pretty good, with a possible question mark over the Verado's power to weight ratio. So I guess that it may not be critical, whichever one we opt for.
